MCE Undertakes Comprehensive Tour to Assess Easter Preparations and Project Progress Across Kwahu South

As part of sustained efforts to ensure a successful and memorable Easter celebration, the Municipal Chief Executive of Kwahu South, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David, yesterday undertook a comprehensive tour of the municipality to inspect ongoing activities and projects outlined in the Assembly's Easter roadmap. The tour was aimed at assessing progress made so far and ensuring that all initiatives are on track for a seamless festive season.

The MCE visited several key locations, engaging with project teams, organisers, contractors, and community members to evaluate the status of work and offer directives where necessary.

Kwahu Business Forum Premises

The tour began at the premises designated for the upcoming Kwahu Business Forum, a key event designed to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders to explore opportunities in the region. The MCE inspected the venue and was briefed by the organiser on the progress made so far, as well as all arrangements put in place for a successful forum.

At the Kwahu mountains, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David observed the ongoing beautification exercise where students from some Senior High Schools within the municipality and the organizers have been painting roadside barricades. The exercise, which the MCE previously participated in, is significantly advanced, with long stretches of barricades now freshly painted, adding vibrant colour to the scenic mountain roads.

Obomeng ICT/AI Training Centre - Renaming in Honour of Late Hon. Dr. Edward Omane Boamah

The MCE visited the Obomeng ICT  Centre, which is set to be renamed after the late Hon. Dr. Edward Omane Boamah in recognition of his contributions to the community. The facility is receiving final touches ahead of the official renaming ceremony, which is expected to take place during the Easter festivities. The MCE was satisfied with progress.

Construction of Washroom and Car Park at Obomeng Astro Turf

At the Obomeng Astro Turf, the MCE inspected ongoing construction of a washroom facility and a car park. These amenities are being developed to improve the experience of users of the sports facility, especially during the Easter period when increased patronage is expected. The project is progressing well, with contractors working diligently to complete it before the festivities begin.

Dump Sites at Obomeng and Mpraeso

The MCE also visited designated dump sites in Obomeng and Mpraeso to assess waste management arrangements ahead of Easter. He observed that the sites are being properly cleared, as some refuse had been finding their way onto the streets. Workers were actively clearing and gathering the waste to ensure a clean environment.

Bepong - Revamping Easter Celebrations

In Bepong, the MCE toured the town to see the development being made as part of efforts to revamp the Easter celebration there, mirroring the vibrancy seen in other towns within the municipality. Community leaders and youth have been actively working to organise cultural displays, entertainment, and other activities aimed at attracting visitors and boosting local commerce. The MCE commended the people of Bepong for their enthusiasm and assured them of the Assembly's support.

Odweanoma Paragliding Area

The final stop on the tour was the Odweanoma paragliding area, where preparations are underway for the launch of this year's paragliding event. The MCE inspected the take?off site and enquired on the necessary progress being made to ensure a successful and safe paragliding season. Paragliding remains one of the hallmark attractions of Kwahu Easter, drawing thrill?seekers from across Ghana and beyond.

MCE's Remarks on the Tour

Speaking after the tour, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David expressed satisfaction with the level of progress achieved so far. He praised the dedication of workers, volunteers, and community members who have contributed to the various projects and activities.

"I am encouraged by what I have seen today. From the mountains to the town centres, from business forums to paragliding, our people are working hard to make this Easter truly special. We still have a few days to go, and I urge everyone to maintain the momentum. Together, we will deliver a safe, clean, and vibrant celebration that showcases the best of Kwahu South."

The MCE also extended his gratitude to traditional leaders, Assembly staff, security agencies, and all residents for their continued cooperation and support.
