The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly has organised a two-day Next Generation Leadership Training for Assembly Members as part of efforts to strengthen their leadership capacity and improve effective local governance.

The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly successfully held a sanitation exercise across Mpraeso and other communities within the municipality on Friday, 17th July 2026, as part of the rotational National Sanitation Day initiative organized within the municipality. The exercise saw active participation from the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David, the Municipal Coordinating Director, staff of the Assembly, Assembly members, and residents of the various communities.

The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly (KSMA) on Tuesday, 14th July 2026, hosted the Eastern Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. Ebenezer Amoah, on a working visit aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing administrative performance, and improving public service delivery within the municipality.

The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the local Christian community, successfully observed the 2026 National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Wednesday, 1st July 2026, at the Perez Chapel in Bepong. The event was held under the national theme, "Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want," and brought together a cross-section of stakeholders from across the municipality.

The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly, in partnership with a team from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has taken a significant step towards transforming the Nkofieho Mystic Cave at Twenedurase into a world-class tourism destination. A meeting and site visitation exercise were held on Tuesday, 9th June 2026, to assess the location and chart a path for its development.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, was warmly welcomed into the Kwahu South Municipality by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David, on Thursday, 4th June 2026, as she arrived to commission two classroom blocks and cut the sod for the construction of the much-anticipated 24hr Economy Market at Mpraeso.

The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly successfully observed the National Sanitation Day exercise on Friday, 15th May 2026, at Kwahu Praso No. 2. The exercise formed part of the Assembly's continued commitment to the government's "Clean Up Ghana" agenda, aimed at fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and improving public health across the municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu South, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David, has officially handed over the site for the much-anticipated 24hr Economy Ultramodern Market to the contractor, marking a major milestone in the execution of the flagship project. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, 14th May 2026, at the market premises in Mpraeso.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu South, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David and management staff on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 held a second sensitization forum with traders of the Mpraeso market to provide updates on the progress of the upcoming 24hr Economy Ultramodern Market, a flagship initiative of the current government aimed at transforming trading activities and boosting economic growth within the municipality. Nana Ampadu Daduam II Chief of Mpraeso and his entourage were present at the forum.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu South, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David, together with the Municipal Director of Agriculture, the Presiding Member, the Municipal Agricultural Officer in charge of livestock, and the respective Agricultural Extension Agents from the communities visited, has undertaken a two-day inspection exercise across the Municipality to monitor the progress of beneficiaries under the government's flagship Akuko Nkitinkitin poultry revitalisation programme.

The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly has successfully conducted elections for the position of Presiding Member, resulting in the re-election of Hon. Addo Ofosu Samuel for the 2026-2028 term. The election took place on Thursday, 30th April 2026, at the Kwahu South Municipal Assembly Hall, beginning exactly at 9:30am.
