Demographic Characteristics 

1.3.1 Population Size and Growth Rate
Kwahu South Municipality had a population of 80,358 according to the 2021 Population and Housing Census with males constituting (48.1%) 38,618 and (51.9%) 41740 females. 

1.3.2 Household Size/ Characteristics
According to the 2021 Population and Housing Census, there are a total of 23,579 households in the Municipality with a household population of 75,901 and an average household size of 3.2 and about (24.5%) of the household population are heads same as the region.  About (38.1%) are children while grandchildren constitute 13.2 percent and 9 percent are spouses. Headship of households in the Municipality is male dominated with (58.0%). 

1.3.3 Culture and Social Structure
Behavioral patterns, belief systems, principles and ways of living are derivatives of our culture. Culture is the invincible bond which ties people together. One of the things that make every culture homogeneous is the practice of chieftaincy. Kwahu South Municipality is a heterogeneous community occupied predominantly by Kwahus who form 63.9% as evidenced in 2010 PHC. Other ethnic groups are Ewes (10.5%), Dangme (7.7%) and Ashanti (2.9%). There are also people from the northern regions and other parts of Ghana.  Christianity is the dominant religion and constitute 79.4% of the population. Those with no religious affiliation are 12.2% whiles Muslims constitute 6.45%. Traditionalist and others can also be found.
