Infrastructure 
1.6.1. Roads and Transport
Road transport is the major form of transport in the Municipality with a total network of 280.14km. The roads are classified as follows: 

1.6.1.1. Highways
These are the Nkawkaw-Asakraka, Nkawkaw through Obomeng to Twenedurase and Obomeng to Mpraeso of which the Municipality has stretches of totaling about 96.67 kilometers. About 29.6 kilometers of the Highways in the Municipality is in a good condition whiles the 8.6 kilometers and 58.47 kilometers are in fair and poor conditions respectively.

1.6.1.2 Town Roads 
The length of Town Roads in the Municipality is about 85.7 kilometers with 9.4 kilometers being in good condition and another 3.2 kilometers and 73.1 kilometers being in fair and poor conditions respectively.

1.6.1.3. Feeder Roads
There is an extensive feeder road network of about 97.63 kilometers in the Municipality, most of these roads were originally roads constructed by timber merchants or footpaths linking small farming villages/hamlet that have been upgraded. Forty-eight (37.6) kilometers of these roads are in good condition whiles the remaining 13.8 kilometers and 46.23 kilometers are in fair and poor conditions respectively.
    
1.6.2 Settlement Systems 
The Kwahu South Municipality exhibits a typical forest settlement topology. The settlement type is predominantly rural with nucleated pattern. There are few dispersed settlements but these are basically farm houses. The major settlements are located along the arterial roads and it appears the road hierarchies determine the settlement hierarchies, thus showing a typical structure. Houses are generally of the compound type except the developing ones which have western type of houses with modern facilities. The rural settlements have local architecture and wall and roofing are generally made of swish/wattle and daub and thatch respectively. The major land uses are agriculture (food cash crops) settlements, infrastructure networks, utility installations, forest and midlands and open maters. The urban centres have land uses like commerce, industry, recreation and public amenities. The rural settlements have a few public structures which are basically schools and Cocoa sheds.

1.6.3 Postal and Telecommunication
The Municipality has a tele-density penetration of about 90 percent. MTN is the most popular and the most used telecommunication network in the Municipality. Other telecommunication networks such as Vodafone and Airtel-Tigo do not work in some communities. Postal services facilities in the Municipality are located in four (4) localities namely Mpraeso, Obo, Asakraka and Bepong.       

1.6.4 Energy
Electricity, LPG and fuel wood are the main sources of energy in the Municipality.  Percentage of communities covered by electricity is 80.5 percent, 70 percent of rural communities are connected to the national grid. LPG and fire wood are used for cooking while electricity is used for lighting, small scale industrial and commercial activities. The Municipality has one (1) LPG supply point with three (4) fuel filling stations.
