National Sanitation Day at Twenedurase

The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly held the National Sanitation Day event on Saturday, 6th September, 2025, at Twenedurase Community. This comes in line with the directive by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, designating the first Saturday of every month as "Sanitation Day." The aim of this monthly event is to encourage cleanliness and promote proper waste disposal habits within communities across Ghana.
This event was hosted by the Municipal Assembly, through the Head of Environmental Health, Zoomlion Ghana and various community stakeholders. These stakeholders include the Chief and Elders of the Twenedurase Traditional Authority, the Hon. Assembly Member for Twenedurase Electoral Area, the Chairman of the Local Council of Churches Twenedurase, the Chief Imam of the Twenedurase Muslim Community, the National Fire Service, and the People of Twenedruase.
The MCE, Hon Effah Osei Bonsu David in his closing remarks encouraged the community not to relent after the event. He asked that, the Community leaders far beyond the organization of the National Sanitation Day should adopt the culture of cleaning the community occasionally.
